The clutch system was made to ensure comfortable driving, however a stiff clutch could mean frustration to the driver. Here are some reasons why your car clutch pedal could become stiff.
- If your clutch system works mechanically then, it could be that your linkage has been blocked by dirt. Or bad cross shaft or pivot balls.
- Apart from the Mechanical clutch system is the hydraulic clutch system. The hydraulic clutch uses the same working principle of your hydraulic brake. It has a master cylinder and in this cylinder is a piston that causes a depression on the hydraulic fluid when pressure is applied to the pedals. The piston however can break causing a blockade in the cylinder thus preventing the movement of itself and other components of the cylinder. This could pose a threat as the clutch system is not made to release transmission to the engine.
