Kia Motors has been trying hard to get its business up and running in India. In this quest, the South Korean company will be taking a huge step towards achieving its endeavour. The company has a long line-up of cars that it will be launching in 2018. The upcoming Kia cars cover all the segments, including hatchback, crossover, sedan and SUV.
That said, despite being a premium brand in the passenger car segment in India, the Kia cars price wouldn’t be anything fancy or pocket-burner for some automobile buyers. The prices would be extremely competitive and would be in line with the cars in its segment.

With a lot of build up already done, let’s get into the details of the upcoming cars from Kia in India in 2018.
Kia Picanto is quite the looker when it comes to the designing. It has a bold and tall-ish styling with a big grille at the bumper. The overall frame looks very much similar to the Grand i10, with which it is expected to share the mechanics as well, once it breaks the cover. If so, there would be a 1.2-litre petrol and diesel engine, which could have a better tuning than the Grand i10.
If the glimpses are to be considered true, the Kia Stonic could easily be the best-designed crossover (arguably) in the country thus far. The ruggedness of the car is decked up at the at the sharp front profile, contrasting colour roof and roof rails.
Under the hood, it could get the same 1.6-litre engine set which powers the 2018 Hyundai Verna sedan. In addition to this, it could be offered with a 1.0-litre turbocharged motor as well.
The Kia Cerato would be a direct competitor to the Honda Civic. It looks like a remix version of the Hyundai Elantra, the sister sedan. However, the expected pricing of the car is slightly on the higher side and a reduction at the time of launch would do a world of good for the company. Mechanically, the Cerato could get the same engine as the Hyundai Elantra.
The Kia Stinger GT, the most powerful Kia sedan in India, could be launched in 2018 itself. The car holds a sporty design with a long bonnet and receding roofline at the rear half. Features like ABS, EBD and rear camera could be standard on all the trims. Moreover, six airbags could also be given as a standard fitment.
In the Indian market, it would be competing against the likes of the Skoda Superb and the Volkswagen Passat.
The Kia Sorento, once launched, would be a strong answer to the new Jeep Compass and would also stand against the popularity of the Toyota Innova Crysta. The SUV has a very muscular appearance with perfectly carved sides and edges. The big wheels should get a 5-spoke alloy design. Mechanically too, the SUV would be powerful and should be getting a turbocharger as well.
The Kia Sportage is the flagship SUV from the automaker for the Indian market. Hence, the features and build quality are top class. It is extremely spacious on the inside and will get features like an 8-speaker audio system from JBL, touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, etc.
With so many new releases piled up for this year, Kia Motors would be hoping to get a good grip on the domestic market and rank among other popular carmakers. However, this would not be an easy thing to do as it would have to face tough nuts like Maruti Suzuki, Honda and Tata Motors.
