HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID
It is always recommended that you change your gear fluid in every 30,000 to 60,000 miles (check your owner’s manual for the specific advised maintenance schedule). The frequency should vary depending on how tough you are on your transmission and how severe your driving conditions are. Tougher conditions include vehicle or truck towing, extended high speed driving and driving especially in cold weather need more frequent changes (every 15,000-24,000 miles plus or minus). For automatic transmissions, some manufacturers advise that the fluid be only changed every 60,000 to 100,000 miles. To check how hard your driving is on your gearbox, you can install a temperature gauge.
